Expertise: Racial, ethnic, and immigrant differences in educational outcomes and transition to adulthood, interracial friendships and romantic relationships, sociology of music, especially K-Pop and the Hallyu, and dating and marriage in S. Korea
Field: Arts & Humanities, Science & Technology

Grace Kao studies race, ethnicity, and immigration as they collectively relate to education and relationships among young people. She also has interests in the effects of migration on young people and has written papers on these topics in Mexico, China, and Spain. Currently, she is teaching a first year seminar called “Race and Place in British New Wave, K-Pop, and Beyond.”
