Cameron LaPoint, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Finance
Expertise: Real estate finance, housing policy, corporate tax incentives, commercial real estate, mortgage markets
Field: Business

My research spans real estate, corporate finance, urban economics, and household finance. I examine how tax policy and financial regulation influence investor behavior in real estate markets. Through my work on the links between property tax delinquency and gentrification, I have advised legal teams working on ongoing cases related to the constitutionality of local property tax foreclosure procedures. In other papers, I examine how the location decision of firms, and where they choose to invest in response to local tax incentives, matters for local economic development and regional inequality.
