Dr. Safdar has been researching sex-specific signals of microvascular dysfunction for 20+ years. Her work on physiological reactivity in chest pain patients led to the use of cardiac PET/CT in the Emergency Department. The Safdar Lab extends this work, investigating the heart-brain connection. The next phase assesses the role of sex and endothelial dysfunction in precision based personalized medicine.
As Director of Women’s Health Research at Yale, Safdar directs an extensive portfolio of research at Yale exploring conditions that affect women differently, disproportionately, and uniquely.
