I focus on issues of global health, specializing in infectious diseases, tropical medicine and parasitology, and international adoption. Our laboratory studies the molecular pathogenesis of parasitic diseases that affect children in developing countries. Much of this work has focused on bloodfeeding hookworms, intestinal nematodes that infect over one billion people worldwide.
