Dr. Gaffey’s research concerns the contributions of nontraditional factors — stress, sleep, trauma, and social determinants of health — to incident hypertension, cardiovascular disease and prognosis, comorbid psychiatric conditions, the pathophysiology underlying this risk, and determining associations that are unique to women.
